Emily Giannini, MS, CCC-SLP

Welcome, I’m Emily!

I am an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist serving children and adults throughout Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. I earned my Bachelor of Science from James Madison University and my Master of Science from Salus University. Additionally, I am a Certified Oxygen Advantage® Instructor and am currently completing advanced training toward Qualified Orofacial Myologist (QOM) certification.

My practice is guided by the understanding that breathing, oral function, swallowing, and communication are closely linked. By evaluating how these systems work together, I aim to understand what's contributing to each client's concerns and develop a treatment plan that fits their individual needs.

I believe therapy should be individualized, collaborative, and tailored to real life. Whether working with children or adults, my goal is to help clients develop the foundational skills they need to communicate clearly, breathe efficiently, and function with greater confidence every day.

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring local restaurants, practicing yoga, taking long walks, and spending time with family and friends.

Client Testimonials

  • “I can’t express how thankful I am to have had Emily as my Myofuncational teacher. Emily is a patient, very driven and humorous soul. I consider myself to have been a bit more of a complicated client, since my motivation behind doing Myo was to optimize sleep. I have undergone various treatments, including an upper jaw expander known as MARPE and a lingual frenectomy, without a good Myofunctional therapist all of these surgeries I did could have been futile, but Emily knew exactly what exercises to do to address my specific needs and was with me every step of the way, which in my case was exactly what I needed. Emily is also very knowledgeable and attentive not just about the Myo work itself but also about the process towards recovery. Thank you Emily, for your dedication and your patience and for helping me improve my quality of life.”

  • “I recently worked with Emily for both pre- and post-op myofunctional therapy after getting a frenectomy to help my tongue rest properly on the roof of my mouth and improve my sleep quality. She was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout the entire process (both pre and post-op), providing clear instructions and thoughtful feedback that made everything easy to follow. The customized tracking template she created for logging exercises on a day-by-day and week-by-week basis was fantastic and really helped me stay consistent. And most importantly, the results have been excellent.

Also, her positive energy and genuine enthusiasm made every session something I actually looked forward to. I can't recommend Emily and her practice enough!”

  • “Emily is a joy to work with!! My 3 month old daughter refused to take a bottle for 8+ weeks and it wasn’t until Emily started working with us that she finally took the bottle! Not only has she started taking it, she is doing full feeds from the bottle as well. A HUGE accomplishment from where we started! We couldn’t have done this without her help. Emily is extremely knowledgeable, positive, and truly cares about everyone she works with. We’re forever grateful for her help with our little girl!”
